Mike and the team are always accommodating and friendly whenever we go down to Croyde. As their website says, it's a laid back approach and you can park up and pitch wherever you want in their field. Ideal location to walk down with surf boards etc to the sea, as well as a walk up to Baggy Point (25 mins) or in to Croyde village (20 mins). Expanding each year with their food hut and surf hire. Good showers and toilets and washing up area. No dogs (which is actually nice).

Beautiful campsite with a stunning view of the beach. Stayed there with my son and some friends. Had the best time. Facilities were fantastic and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Best campsite in Croyde, right near the beach, loads of space. Very nice owners too, known them for years and can honestly say they are some of the best humans I know. They do some really cool early evening music nights too in the summer and the food trucks, cluck chicken, budda eats etc are great too!!

Great location 10 minute walk from the beach. Staff were excellent and facilities were in good condition (toilet/shower/washing up etc). Food vendors served most of the day on site plus a few pubs within a 20 minute walk from site. Would recommend

Lovely campsite I visited with my family and friends. We can recommend Freshwell Camping in Croyde, North Devon. They have live music from independent musicians and singers on. Wednesday and Friday Evening. Family friendly timings 5pm until 8pm. They also have great toilet and shower facilities well kept and cleaned regularly.

Second to none is this place 4 years on the bounce. Never tired of the place. Staff are great and always friendly and more than happy to help. Views are amazing atmosphere is chilled relaxing and the site has this little chink of magic with fires burning every night. Well worth the stay.

Me and my girlfriend visited for 5 days, it is an amazing site with amazing views, the facilities are fantastic and clean, the staff are super helpful and friendly, its a short walk to the beach which is ideal if you plan on surfing like we did, they also hire out wetsuits and boards at a reasonable price, site location is brilliant if you want to take the coastal paths to either Woolacombe or Saunton, if you don't drive the bus stops about 2 minutes away from the site, we will 100% be coming back

A wonderful little campsite with an amazing location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very well organised. There were procedures in place and lots of space to make the experience as comfortable and as safe as possible. Sad to leave. I will definitely be back! Thank you!

Wonderful campsite with perfect views. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. They work constantly on cleanliness, great toilet blocks and great showers! No overcrowding, a nice family campsite and lovely and quiet after hours. Highly recommended

A great place with the best view. Booked online as a surprise to visit my son who was working in Croyde. Turns out I had the biggest surprise. Such a beautiful campsite with amazing views, fantastic people and so accommodating. Without a doubt the best site to stay!! See you next year and thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Stayed at Freshwell this summer and had a great time. Was really impressed with the laid back atmosphere of the site and the owner Mike. The two brothers Mike and John have taken over the running of the site from their parents this year and intend to make some small alterations to improve the facilities and the customer experience. It was very close to Croyde beach with the added bonus of having 2 very nice coffee vendors at the end of the drive!

We stayed for a week and had a fantastic time. We really liked the free range camping concept allowing you to choose where you pitch up. Other campsites looked cramped! The view is superb from the field. Facilities are basic but all you need, ample showers which were always hot and clean toilets. Wetsuit washing facilities were a welcome addition! All the staff were really friendly and helpful. A lovely chilled out campsite, we’d stay again!

Had the most wonderful weekend at Freshwell Camping. We stayed in the Glamping Hut, which was absolutely beautiful, there wasn't a detail which had been missed. The views were breath taking, making this the perfect getaway. Such a peaceful, cosy place to go back to after a day surfing. We also loved the night garden, which was amazing to sit and look at the night sky, or watch the sunset over the bay. The breakfast delivery in the morning was lovely, being able to wake up and enjoy without having to prepare anything meaning you can head down to the beach faster! All of the staff were all extremely helpful and made you feel very welcome. If you're looking for the perfect retreat in the best spot in Devon look no further. Thank you Freshwell Camping for such a great holiday to remember!

LOVE this campsite, miss it and can't wait to be back there! It is perfect - Mike and all are so friendly and helpful, Mike went out of his way to help us several times which was so kind of him. I would agree with another post below that their laid back approach rubs off on everyone else, as not only did my kids make friends, but I did too - everyone was so nice! The showers are amazing, the toilets always clean and stocked up with loo roll and soap, bins well managed, it is not at all crowded even when full, the views are of course amazing, it really is only a short walk to the beach and other nearby amenities, you can check out whenever you like .... love it, love it, love it!

We love it here. The owners and staff are lovely, the views are amazing and the toilets and showers are always clean. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that you aren't restricted as to where you can pitch up. As long as other campers are considerate, this works brilliantly. Croyde beach is fab for body boarding and there are some lovely places to eat in the village. We even got to see meteors! Thanks very much

My partner, his three kids and I loved our stay at Freshwells Campsite last week. We had a great plot with the most amazing views over Croyde Bay. The toilets and showers were always clean. The site has a lovely chilled atmosphere with no restriction on arrival time or the time you have to leave. We had amazing weather and loved being so near to the beach. Mike and the staff were all really helpful and we look forward to coming back next year.

Great stay again , nice takeover from the boys, George has a great attitude and a few tweaks over the next years will make this one the only one worth considering. Great weather for the weekend made our stay pretty well perfect Might try one of those bell tents next year

What a really great campsite! Nice relaxed atmosphere, stunning location and only a short walk to the beach! Croyde can be reach on foot too via a nice quiet pathway. Showers hot and toilets spotless. Great value for money, we will be returning for a longer stay!

The guys who own and run the campsite were so accommodating, helpful and lovely!! It also has the most amazing views across Croyde which are unrivalled from any other campsite in the area!! the facilities are also great, always nice and clean! Thanks for a great stay!!

Highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be going back next year. Great for families with younger children that prefer a quite campsite at night and a short walk to the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful and the facilities are kept clean regularly!

We still had a lovely long weekend camping at Freshwell! Turned up to a spacious campsite with great rates for us all. Location was brilliant, 5 minutes walk to the sea, and approx 25-30 minute walk into the town! Would stay again.
