Marije De Vries
Born in Alkmaar, Marije started her musical journey at a young age. She graduated in music from the Minerva Academy of Pop Culture
in Leeuwarden and soon immersed himself in the world of harmony singing and songwriting. She is inspired by artists
as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and The Weather Station, and enjoyed early success as the frontwoman of the Dream-folk band WONDER.
In the past decade, Marije has released music as part of various collaboration projects and is currently working on her own debut in 2023. Commissioned by Stichting Liet in Friesland, she wrote songs two years in a row that she also
performed for the Eurovision Song Contest of the same name. With the band WONDER she has previously performed at European festivals including the Showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag, Into The Great Wide Open and Grasnapolsky, and she recently toured internationally with the Folk trio Pinfeather.
She often performs with acoustic guitar, electric guitar or banjo, accompanied by a blues harp. The inspiration she needs to write her songs comes from personal stories or those of the people around her. But can also be about the how and why of amazing moments in this life.

Jeremy first visited Freshwell in Summer 2020 as a means of playing music to our guests as campsites were the only means of accommodation during the 1st year of Covid-19. 3 years later we have been lucky to build on an emerging and recognised open-air live music location for families staying on site. Jeremy’s friendly and informal approach gets all ages dancing and singing along to one of the finest backdrops in Croyde.
